He was in Indiana visiting relatives and friends when he suffered a massive stroke leading to his earthly death and beginning of his heavenly life on August 30, 2012 at 3:00 a.m.

He was born December 5, 1918 in Terre Haute to John Henry & Philomina (Bockhold) Hellmann. Welcoming him in heaven are his parents, eight siblings, and devoted wife of 65 years, Doris Hellmann.

Ray Hellmann served in the armed forces in WWII; was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Third Order of St. Francis. He spent the first half of his life in Indiana and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1970. Ray would be best described as a man who passionately loved God and his family.
