Ira Chism, age 72, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Kokomo on August 31, 1944 to Woodrow and Maxine (Croddy) Chism. He attended Kokomo High School and then served in the United States Air Force. Ira worked Montgomery Ward, for H.H. Gregg in Kokomo and Indianapolis; Glick Properties before retiring in 2014. He was a Maintenance Technician at Nora Commons where he met Mary London.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Scott & Carla Chism of Kokomo; Chris & Ruth Chism of Tampa, Florida; siblings: Phillip & Sandra Chism of Kokomo, Phyllis Wheeler of Bulls Gap, Tennessee; Mary & Bill Nicholson of Kokomo, Jerry & Pam Chism of Florida; fiancée: Mary London of Indianapolis; grandchildren: John Chism, Shelby Chism, Christopher Chism, Isaac Chism, Clayton Chism, Landon Chism; great-granddaughter: Lydia Sargeant and a host of family and friends.

Preceding Ira in death are his parents; sister: Linda Cron.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 4 P.M. at the Cafe at Nora Commons. Interment will be at a later date at Marion National Cemetery, please visit www.NewcomerIndianapolis.com to sign the guest book.
