Dear Margaret,
My heart is so full of sadness for you. I can't comprehend this loss and the suffering that is in your life right now.
What I do know is that our great God will be there with you, filling this void with His love, His strength and only the comfort that He can give.
In the beauty of this world the stars shine at His command,
the willows bow before Him, the robin lifts its voice in song,
the clouds dance in a sea of blue, the trees raise their limbs in praise,
He is our Creator of all, He is the Almighty God and He will always be
with you step by step.
With much love,
Virginia & Steve.

Dear Margaret and family,
I was saddened to hear of Sam's death. He was a lovely person and I am privileged to know him. Like the obituary noted, Sam was a story teller and friend to all. In his company, everyone felt welcomed. It is no wonder that he made friends around the world and was admired for his hard work and insight.
Sam was a good friend to my parents. My Mother cherished the friendship between our families. David and Nicole, he paid his babysitters well. A quality I enjoyed as a young person.
Our heartfelt prayers are with you. Warmest regards, Laura (Whitman) and Ed Crites.
~ Laura Crites - July 24, 2014

To the LOVE of my life for 45 years, my husband and father of our 2 children and grandfather of our grandkids,
"Sam" Thurman Gould, Jr.
The day we met, the love we have known,
The time we have shared, the ways we have grown,
The little things that kept us close,
The big things that helped us most,
The joy we have felt when our 2 children and
grandchildren where born,
The trust we have earned,
The fun we have had, the lessons we learned,
The dreams that we shared and most came true for us,
The promises kept, the commitment to stay,
Together forever, all the way.
Mein Schatz, I loved you yesterday, I love you still, always have and always will. I know you are in heaven and you will watch over our family like you promised. One day we will be together again, Deine Margret.
~ Margaretha Gould - June 29, 2014
I pray for you all today as you go through this time of mourning of this wonderful man. May God meet you right where you are today. May he carry you in his arms in the tough times. I am so very proud to be in such a great family and love you all so much. Your cousin
~ Donna Davis - June 21, 2014
Dad..........I love you, and always loved you, as you would say at the end of each and all our calls...."big like a house"
We will always have Vegas.................that wonderful memory will never leave my heart, and carries me through this day, along with the many humid hours drinking coffee in the screen room while telling me all those wonderful life stories.
May you rest in peace............til we meet again.
~ Patty Golder - June 21, 2014
My thoughts are with you all today . . . Margret, David & family, Nicole & family, and Patty and family . . . as you say goodbye to Thurman Jr. I know how much it hurts to lose someone who you love so dearly. Words cannot express the sadness in my heart but I want you all to know that I love you and pray that you will all find the strength to move through this day as well as the days and weeks ahead. Cherish the memories and know that he will never be far away. He loved you all so much.
~ Denise Gould - June 21, 2014
It is with a sad heart that I leave my condolences here tonight. Tomorrow we will say goodbye for a time. He is beyond our sight for now but we have him with us in our hearts forever. My most recent, fondest memory will be his almost daily calls to me. We would chat about our growing up years, time fishing on the sea with my father, and the shenanigans of a busy household. Sometimes it was sobering, but almost always we would leave each other in a great deal of laughter. I have always been so proud of him and his accomplishments. He will be greatly missed. -Sister, LaVonne
~ LaVonne Beal - June 21, 2014
Through the years I have very few memories of my Grandfather. I know there will be many people wondering who I am but I am his granddaughter, the daughter of his first child, Patricia Golder, through his first wife, Theresa Gould. My mother gave me a great gift, regardless of the years separated, by naming me after my grandfather, and I'm very proud to bear it. I wish that my son Anthony, his first great grandchild would have been able to know him but he did through us. I have told him about his great grandfather and his accomplishments with great pride. Although over the last 8 years he's received very little correspondence from my grandfather and his family there, one such thing sticks out. A Christmas gift he was sent a couple years ago, his very first school backpack. He absolutely adored it! And although he has grown out of using it, the small stuffed monkey that was attached to it, he still sleeps with each night. It is one of his "special friends" he says. While I may never have gotten something like this, the joy it brought my son at Grampys hands was priceless. Grampy, thank you for that. I hope that you find peace now and that you can rest easy. God Bless and I love you!
~ Samantha Buck - June 20, 2014
Margret, Nicole (Tommy) and David (Davina), and all those special grandchildren, I've known your family for years and love you all very much , Sam and I had a lot of laughs on the porch as we watched the world go by. He always told me how proud he was to have all of you and didn't know life could be so great. Margret thank you so much for being my best friend, you and Nicole helped my family through all of our losses especially my brother ( Mike ). My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you.
~ janis atkinson - June 19, 2014
Patty, I remember so well how you were loved by your father, my brother Thurman. You and I didn't see each other often but you hold a special place in my heart. Your children Samantha, Angela and Richard along with your grandchildren Anthony and Jadynn are in my prayers. Thurman's life, as the obituary states, was filled with many accomplishments and you should remember and cherish those high points of his life. I have lost my father (Thurman Gould, Sr), your grandfather, and know well the hole that is in your heart today. I pray that God will give you and your family comfort. Uncle George
~ George Gould - June 19, 2014
Mom,
Dad expressed so many times how you were the love of his life, and that he never knew love until you. His love for you was one that so many people commented on and the way that he lit up when he talked about you was sweet. The way he held your hand when you would watch television together made my heart melt. You were an amazing wife that was always there to love and support him unconditionally. You encouraged him to mend fences and helped him every step of the way. Your love was that of a fairy tale and he was so proud to call you his wife. Find comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and that you have always done everything to make him happy...AND HE WAS INCREDIBLY HAPPY! Thank you mom for all of your love, support and understanding throughout the years. You are an amazing person!
~ Nicole McCaffrey - June 18, 2014
Dad,
You were the first man I ever loved, you set the bar high. You were the most amazing and loving father! You and mom had a priceless and precious marriage that survived the test of time (45 years). I am honored and blessed that I am your daughter! We had the most incredible memories that I will forever treasure; from our cross country family trip listening to Dave Dudley and Elvis to the smile on your sweet face when I would come by to say hello. The kids miss you so much already, but enjoyed every second they spent with you. You were an incredible Grandfather, dad and friend. We were able to have so many priceless talks trying to save the world. 35 years of love and laughter...you will forever remain in my heart, in my children's smile and laughter and especially in the memory of the love you had for us! Until we meet again!
~ Nicole McCaffrey - June 18, 2014
Patty,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of sorrow. Remember those wonderful childhood memories shared between you and your father. Memories can never be taken away or controlled by others. God Bless you.
