Dr. William Glenn Young, age 82, of Titusville, FL passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on July 20, 1930. Glenn was the youngest of four children born to Emmett Roy and Clarice Myrtice Young, and brother to Emmett, Mary Frances, and Norene.

Glenn was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1959 Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Young practiced in Youngstown, Ohio before coming to Titusville in 1961 to open up his own veterinary practice. Dr. Young retired from Young's Animal Hospital in 1997 and was cherished by many in the community for his compassion and love for the animals.

Glenn was a member of the Titusville City Council in 1965 & 1966 and subsequently served on several county and city boards. He was an avid sailor and cruised the Caribbean several times in his sailboat. Locally he participated in sailboat racing and was a winner of several awards.

Dr. William Glenn Young is survived by his beloved wife Jane; his two step-daughters Dawn Marie Lawson and Heather Ann Schember; his son William Glenn Young Jr. and spouse Liz. His daughter Julie Elizabeth Denninghoff preceded him in death, and is survived by Julie's spouse Scott and grandchildren, Logan, Megan, Lenora, and Melissa Denninghoff. His two children were from a previous marriage to Juanita Young. He is also survived by his sister Mary Frances Roach, sister-in-law Loma Young and many loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Newcomer Cremation & Funeral Service Chapel on Tuesday, April 30 from 11:30 - 12:00PM. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 12:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested that donations be made to the National Parkinsons Foundation, 800-473-4636.
