Julius “Jay” Jensen, age 79, of Lake Mary, FL passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Advent Health Hospital Orlando with his loving son James (Jay) and guardian angel, Joy, by his side.

Jay was born on June 15, 1941 in Omaha, NE; son of the late Anton and Louise (Ira) Jensen. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer and Supervisor for several companies, including Anheuser Busch, Niagara Mohawk, Phillips Manufacturing, and Inficon, during his career before his retirement.

Jay loved his family fiercely and doted on his daughters, son, many grandchildren, and great grandchild. He often would tell anyone who would listen of their accomplishments. Jay was a noble patriot, and was immensely proud to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard from June 16, 1959 to May 29, 1963. His love for Harley Davidson motorcycles was about as big as his Harley Davidson T-shirt collection. He loved tinkering with antiques and working on cars, motorcycles, and projects around the house. There often was a tool in hand and a smile on his face. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his children and grandchildren. If you knew him, you would also have had a glass of his “special brew” wine. He was a beloved member of the Baldwinsville Community for over 40 years, and a long-time member of the Masons Guild and Tigris Shriners. He spent his last few years enjoying his retirement in Florida with his beautiful companion and Guardian Angel, Joy. Though he had many challenges, he chose to live each day with a smile on his face, happy to be alive for another day of adventure.

Jay is survived by his son, James Jensen of Longwood; his three daughters, Julie Jensen-Mackin of Auburn, NY, Kimberly Jensen of Wolcott, VT, and Heather Jensen and her husband, Trevor Hill of Baldwinsville, NY; Daughter-in-Law Tracey Crawford Jensen of Longwood; his fiancé and companion of four years, Joy Wendt of Lake Mary; eight grandchildren, Mandy Mackin, Daniel Mackin, Arietta Scozzari, Nathan Jensen-Hill, Samantha Lambert, Jacob Jensen, Jackson Jensen, and Jace Jensen; a great-grandchild, Harley Sun; a brother, Anthony Jensen of Santa Barbara, CA; and two sisters, Nancy Annin of Omaha, NE, and Mary Catherine Stanek and her husband, Larry, of Omaha, NE. He also had several nieces and nephews he was close with.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie (Decker) Jensen; and a sister, Caroline Niehaus.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 7:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood.

Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
