Subject to our right to remove Material, Newcomer Funeral Service Group guarantees that each Message Book will remain on this Site for 30 days. Condolence Messages will remain on this Site for the duration of the Message Book.

By making a submission, you may be contacted by Newcomer Funeral Service Group so we may follow up with any issue relating to such submission.
8.) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

George and I only learned about Colin's passing today via an email from Seminole Bromeliad & Tropical Plant Society.
We have such wonderful memories of Colin. He was always cheerful with a smile on his face. We will miss him very much and send our love to Jill and his family.

Colin was an inspiration and mentor. I first met Colin at a Bromeliad Society meeting at the Sanford Garden Club. His enthusiasm and dedication to the support of the SGC was contagious.
His knowledge of everyday operations, how best to repair anything broken, painting inside and outside, what works best in gardening and irrigation issues led to a better understanding of this
wonderful facility and the many people who kept it running. Colin was able to encourage members to participate in everything from landscape to building maintenance. His dedication to
working with people and the effort to keep the Sanford Garden Club running successfully into the 20th Century was inspirational for those who followed. Thank you Jill for all the times you

We will remember Colin he was liked by all of us we loved cruising with him and Jill and the family we would meet at the infamous Rusty’s and watch the cruise liners go out on sundays. When we were down in February he always made us laugh loved his accent will be missed ??

I remember Colin when we worked at the Strombreg Carlson office in Foster City . He loved boating, one day we decided
To go fishing in his boat out of Half Moon Bay. It was quite foggy you could not see more than 30 feet. Fearing for our safety, I asked him if he had a marine radio NO did he have a compass No how about radar NO but he said he had an 8 track on board with Gill's favorite tape Engelbert Humperdink Boy did I felt safe!

The world lost one of its best this week. My deepest condolences to Jill and the entire family. I was a neighbor for close to 30 years.....a kind. caring gentlemen. He and Jill were there when my wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and they were there for support when she passed away in 2013. Colin and I would often cross paths walking the neighborhood....he could really motor along. But the moments I will miss the most is talking about our latest cruise adventures and plotting the next. We shared a love for the Celebrity Equinox and always talked about getting on that ship again. Life goes on but its never the same when you lose someone so special. I'll miss you my friend.

I have know Colin since I came to the Rochester, NY in 1973, that’s 47 years! He was always a great guy and a lot of fun. He was very supportive during the early days when being away from home (London, England) was the hardest. He did an amazing job helping youth soccer grow in central Florida in it’s early days. He will be missed by all! Cathy and I send our sincerest condolences to Jill, such a shame we can’t be therE for her.

Colin was a wonderful father-in-law and person. He would tell you how he felt and had a heart of gold.
He was liked by everyone (I think) that was lucky enough to know him and rightly so. He was so caring and wanted
everyone to be friends.
He will be greatly missed by everyone but we will know that he is really with us when we do get togethers because he would
not want to miss anything.

Jill and family condolences on the passing of a lovely lovely man, and wonderful neighbor. We were blessed to have you as neighbors, We loved your flowers, chats and our Corgis Blitz and Daisy loved getting treats from Colin in your garage as they passed by your home. You both taught Daisy dog to be a sofa/lap dog, which never happened with us. So many many fond memories. Love and hugs to each of you, Colin will truly be missed by all.

Colin (Grandpa) meant so many things to me: friend, grandfather, teacher, soccer strategist, companion, and so on...
He had so much resilience, charm, wit, humor, and gentleness that are trademarks of men and women living in England during the Second World War and its aftermath. He taught me the value of loving people and making friendships.
A great example of this was 10 years ago during a cruise. Our table had the same crew of servers the entire week, and we grew quite close to them by the end of the week. Each night, Colin spoke to them and showed so much interest in their lives and who they were as people. He played jokes on them, and shared stories with them. We were saying our goodbyes to the servers after dinner on the last night, and I noticed the head waiter was crying. Others at our table were shedding tears too. Colin made that much of an impact on him. And he did the same to me each time I got to spend with him.
I will miss him so much, but I hope I can continue his legacy by mimicking his actions.

I worked with Colin for many years at Stromberg. My favorite memories are working with mom and pop telcos, including FOAs with Colin at Canby, Oregon. I was lucky enough to visit with Colin and Jill several weeks ago and he brought these memories up, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile...even brought up how we always bought the rounds and rounds of beer and Chester Willams still owes us! To be honest, Chester didn’t, but he was always a part of the team trips so we could have fun razzing him. Made Colin smile every time. Lots of times!
One of my other treasured memories is a Colin quote from 20+ years ago that I have worn out with family, friends, and coworkers ever since, “If I had known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself!”
Colin was a constant around our Lake Mary neighborhood, jogging and jogging and jogging.....gardening, woodworking, a lot of passions and interests. And always always a sunshiny smile!
You will be missed, Colin. Our hearts go out to Jill and the family. Just know his Stromberg and Silverlake families are thinking about you and prayers going out for you during this difficult time.
