Thomas Eugene Millard, age 63, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Advent Hospital East Orlando. He was the loving husband of Cheri Millard.

Tom was born on August 30, 1956 in Cleveland, OH, son of the late John Joseph Millard, Sr. and Ruth (Latta) Millard. On September 3, 2016, he married his long-time companion, Cheri.

Tom was a loving husband who wanted nothing more than to provide happiness, security and a good life – which he did. He was not one for romantic gestures, but every now and again he would do something surprising, just to cause a smile. He was the type of person that you would follow just about anywhere, who you couldn’t help but love and who has left a hole that cannot ever be filled.

As a father, Tom was loving, encouraging and always there. His children meant the world to him and he loved to tell stories of when they were younger, always remembering them with fondness. He was proud of all that they have accomplished. He also treated his stepdaughters as his own, often referring to them as “his girls” and would talk about them to anyone who would listen.

Family was very important to Tom and he loved all of them deeply. They were often the subject of conversation and he loved to reminisce about growing up with his siblings in Ohio, raising his children in Florida and taking care of his Grandchildren.

Tom was a person who would always help anyone with his kind heart, practical nature and ability to fix almost anything. He enjoyed a range of jobs but before his retirement, Tom joined the TSA and worked at Orlando International Airport. He was driven by a strong desire to “Do something that mattered” after 9/11.

He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his love of castles, his belief that anything can be fixed and his capacity for love.

Tom is survived by his wife Cheri; his daughter Misty and her husband Jereme, his son Scott; two stepdaughters, Jordan and Bethany; six grandchildren, Thomas, Victoria, Robert, Mary, John, and Daniel; two brothers, John and his wife Kathleen, and Daniel; and his sister Brenda and her husband Tom. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and friend Cindy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home -East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822 with Chaplain Mike Caroline officiating.

Visitation with the family will precede the service on Friday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
