Wilson, David R., 76 years of age, went home to be with his Lord on home on August 5, under the care of AdventHealth Hospice Care and Supporting Independence Home Care. He was born in Wenham, MA, on September 24, 1942. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with his Master’s Degree in Business in 1966. He then served in the Army for two years, including in Germany.

He developed several businesses before he founded Christian HELP (Hope, Encouragement, Love, and Prayer), in 1992, a very successful ministry that continues to assist job seekers to find work and provision of needed services, including food. With other committed leaders, volunteers, and workers Christian HELP remains a very active service organization.

Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife, S. Madge Wilson, in 2011; father, Richard Wilson, during World War II; his stepfather, Walter E. Greenough, in 1977; mother, Marjorie Greenough, in 1992, and two half-brothers, Wayne E. Greenough in 2014, and Dr. R. Clive Greenough in 2019.

He is survived by two brother-in-laws, Harlis C. Shortridge and John H. Shortridge; three sister-in-laws, Hazel Sloate, Lillie Shortridge-Baggett, and Loretta Greenough; five nephews, Ronald Shortridge, Rick Shortridge, Robby Shortridge, Wayne Greenough, and Scott Greenough, and four nieces, Virginia Mautte, Tyna Sloate, Laura Baggett, and Melissa Nguyen; and several great nieces and nephews. He is survived also by many dear friends and colleagues, including Scott Spor, Frank Hudsell, Harry Kunisch, Kristy and Ken Owens, and Lois and Larry Fairbrother.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 8, at 10 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home in South Seminole Chapel at 335 East State Road 434, Longwood, FL 32750, with burial following at the All Faith’s Memorial Park, 1390 Park Avenue, Casselberry, FL 32707.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations are made in Dave’s memory at Christian HELP or mail to Christian HELP 450 Seminole Boulevard, Casselberry, FL 32707.
