Michael Paul Delaney, age 62, aka “Uncle Pickles/Sergeant Pies” lost his battle against Cancer on May 9, 2019 at 2:34 pm at home where he passed peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends. He lived in Longwood, FL. He was born on May 2, 1957 in Long Island, NY.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lourie Ann Delaney age 57 of Longwood, Florida.

Michaels daughters, Lisa Michele Wolfel, age 38 and her husband Shaun Wolfel and three grand-children; Chase Matthew Wolfel, age 9, Scarlette Marie Wolfel age 4, Gavin Michael Wolfel age 4., and daughters Nichole Maryse Delaney age 36 and Kelly Rae Delaney age 28.

Michaels three stepchildren, Joshua C. Keller, Jordan B. Keller and Jessica E. Keller. Seven step grandchildren: Hunter Keller, Riley Keller, Ethan Keller, Alyiha Keller, Rebecca Lynn Gorwood and Merella Jewel Gorwood.

He is also survived by his mother Barbara Ann Hughes Delaney, age 89, of Long Island, NY, As well as his three siblings, James (Jimmy) Delaney, Mary Dolginko and Thomas (Tommy) Delaney and their children from Long Island, NY.
His father Frances Vincent Delaney proceeded him in death.

He was also survived by his loving pets Roxie and Harley.

Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant for 13 years. He was a mechanic on the DC-130 and received an honorable discharge on October 1, 1981.

Michael worked for Advent Health as a data analyst from 2011 to 2019. He worked hard to receive his Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida in Health Care Analytics. He graduated with honors and top of his class. Michael could speak Code better than English.

Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home South Seminole Chapel, 335 East State Road 434, Longwood, Florida 32750. May 17, 2019 at 10 AM with a reception to follow. At 12:30 PM promptly the service will leave for the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US 1 Mims, Florida, 32754 where Michael will be laid to rest with full military honors at 2 PM promptly.

Michaels favorite phrase: “Say what you mean, mean what you say.” Dr. Seuss.
