Richard Eugene Glennon, age 87, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Enid Glennon.

He is survived by wife, Loretta Mae Glennon, children, Tom Glennon and his wife, Belinda, Lisa Stough, Christopher Glennon and his wife, Heidi, and Shannon Rowland, grandchildren, Caitlyn Glennon, Kerri Balint, Kelsey Glennon, Joshua Stough, Jacqueline Stough, Matthew Glennon, Madeline Glennon, Brittney Rowland, and Daphney Rowland, great-grandchildren, Dalton Stough, Jaden Stough, and Madison Stough, brother, Johnny Glennon, and sisters, Rachel Beveridge and Ann Hughes.

Richard grew up in Lawton, OK, the eldest son in a family of 7 sisters and 2 brothers. He worked a regular paper route through most of childhood to help support his family. Leaving home shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army just before the start of the Korean War to serve his tour as a surveyor mapping the Philippine Islands. Afterwards, he used the GI bill to obtain an engineering degree from Oklahoma University where he met and wooed the love of his life, Loretta. Marriage, children, and career followed in quick succession. He moved to Winter Park, FL in 1966 to work for the Dept. of Defense as a Project Engineer where he retired in 1985.

He loved playing golf and guitar, designing custom golf clubs, producing home video movies, and listening to music, especially folk and country. Throughout his life he remained a faithful, loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. He was an avid listener who relished hearing about the adventures of anyone who would share their story. His affection and friendship will be missed but his gentle soul will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation is Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with memorial service starting at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (East Orlando Chapel).
