Shirley Jean Brown, formally of Satsuma, passed away peacefully in Titusville, Florida on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, following an extended illness. She was a Christian.

Shirley was born on October 17, 1939 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to parents, Blanch and Eugene Nolen.

Shirley had many friends and acquaintances and was known to be “quite the character”, always with an uplifting word. Shirley and her family first came to Palatka in 1973 from Sanford to open the Holiday House Restaurant in East Palatka.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard T. Brown, of Titusville, four sons, Rick (Lynette) Ryan of East Palatka, Don (Kim) Ryan of Boca Raton, Brock Ryan of Atlanta, Scott (Kris) Ryan of Titusville; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; sister, one sister, Linda Houseman of Daytona Beach, nieces and nephews.

Special appreciation from the family to the staff at Titusville Towers Assisted Living, St. Francis Hospice, and Friends at Home Nursing Facility, all in Titusville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Cremation and Funeral Service of Titusville. A private service will be held at a later time with family. Memories can be expressed to the family on Shirley’s page at www.newcomertitusville.com
