Violet (Vi) Littleton, age 95, passed away at home March 22, 2016 while in the care of her daughter and son-in-law and the wonderful, compassionate people at Hospice of St. Francis. She was born July 13, 1920 on a small farm in Prescott, Arkansas to Jerry Michael and Lula Merle (Hames) Pendergrast.

During the Great Depression she left home and worked many jobs and acquired many talents. She was known as excellent seamstress, wonderful cook, potential artist, competitive bowler and could play a mean game of stud poker. For a while she dreamed of flying and took lessons. As she moved forward in life she eventually retired as a bank teller for Broward National Bank in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Violet raised two children as a single mother and then found her "partner in fun", Burdell (Budd) Joseph Littleton. They married in 1963 and had a wonderful life. Although Budd passed in 1986, she kept him alive and in her heart always. Violet had a great sense of humor, never met a stranger and would help anyone that seemed in need. She was predeased by a brother, Vernon, killed at Tarawa in WWII; three sisters Veloye Spivey, Vyceil Purkey, and Verena Moore.

Her survivors are her daughter Ruth Ann Talbott and her husband Frank, Fl and WV; son H.L. (Butch) Mattox and his wife Cathy, S.C.; grandchildren Michele, Lynda (Dr. James Esserman), Krystin, Joshua, and David; greatgrandchildren Alex, Krysta and Jarrod; several nieces and cousins; Jeanette, Shirley, Terri and Susie and brothers-in-law, Arthur Purkey AZ and Tommy Littleton Oh. All of these family members kept in touch with her constantly as well as her loyal neighbors and friends, and she knew she was loved then and now.

The family asks no flowers as a memorial will be held at a later date. If one is so inclined, please donate to Hospice of St Francis in Titusville, Fl. in her memory.
