Erma Ione Waldren, age 97, passed away on August 21, 2019 at home, surrounded by loving family.

Titusville memorial services are pending. Burial and additional memorial will follow at a family plot in Oak Park Cemetery, Claremont, California.

Erma Waldren was born in Charleston, South Carolina to Willie H. and Ruth F. Monroe on November 17, 1921. She went to school in California and Oregon. She attended the Los Angles Conservatory of Music and Arts as well as the Institute of Musical Education. She loved music and playing the piano. She married Ralph Gilbert Waldren on August 15, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. She loved being a wife and a mother to two boys. She was the President of the Women’s Club in her area of southern California, whose main focus was providing enjoyable and safe activities for the area youth. She didn’t like public speaking, but when it came to protecting and providing for her sons and the youth of her neighborhood she spoke up! Her two sons liked bowling, so Erma and the boys joined a bowling league. Erma was a very talented individual. She learned sewing and quilting from her mother and grandmother. She has made numerous quilts, crocheted and knitted blankets over the years. Wherever she lived, she loved to nurture a rose garden. Erma genuinely loved people and was a wonderful nanny to the two Holloway boys. Erma’s sense of humor, feistiness and talents captured many hearts!

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Waldren, her parents, Willie and Ruth Monroe, her sons, Bill Waldren and Dale Waldren, plus she outlived all of her siblings: Bruce Monroe of Santee, CA, Robert Monroe of El Cajon, CA, Margery Skeen of Claremont, CA and Beverly Castle of Cottage Grove, OR.

Erma is survived by: Grandchildren Dale Waldren, Jr. (Tracy), David Waldren, and Kimberly Groul, plus six great-Grandchildren. Erma is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces all over the United States.

Erma came to Titusville, Florida, twelve years ago to reside with her niece, Laurel Price and her family, where she remained until her death. The extended family of Erma Waldren wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the many individuals who have helped take care of her in the last few months. She loved you all! Special thanks to Vitas Hospice team 181.
