I love you and miss you still, 5 years later.

Your memories will always be in my heart. You are truly missed my dear friend.

Suzanne’s dedication and hands-on work for the Sea Rocket nursery and plant sales was amazing, and she and Shari and others were able to actually make meetings fun. Suzanne’s lovely smile and warm encouragement helped me learn how the chapter operates. All who visit my back porch enjoy the beautiful dwarf Walter’s Viburnum she recommended for my yard (it’s spring bloom grows larger each year). Well deserved peace for you, sweet Suzanne.

Suzanne Meyer, Bill, Andrew, Gwendolyn. You all have become family to us here at Isaiah Assisted Living. Thank you for creating a loving atmosphere full of laughs and genuine love! Suzanne was a woman of faith with a fighters heart! I admired her and the woman she is. I aspire to be as patient and loving as she. Taking care of her in her last days on this earth was a pleasure. Somedays she would also take care of me. Her wise words gave me advice to help me make the right decisions in my own personal life. When I would arrive at the facility no matter what type of day she was having she would smile hug my neck and tell me it’s always good to see your face. That let me know that I was doing right by her. She gave our house that motherly nurturing touch. Bill watching the love for your wife was nothing short of what love is suppose to be. For better or for worse. Til death do you apart. Andrew your dedication sitting next to her bedside and just listening to her speak of the many things she would talk about showed that no matter how much we age a child’s love for their mother will be infinity. Gwendolyn the sunshine that would come in and light up the house! Your sweet innocent love was words that couldn’t be explained! My staff and myself love Suzanne. She was our go to girl! Thank you for letting us take care of her and thank you for sharing her light with us. She will forever be in our heart.
Sincerely,
Quanita Isaiah and Isaiah House Staff

Suzanne’s kind heart and giving spirit made the lives of many animals and the community we live in a better place. Her beautiful rescued kitty, Cheetoh, is just one of many animals that now has a happy home, and when I first met Suzanne, I learned that many gopher tortoises owed their lives to her dedication in saving these awesome creatures. Because of Suzanne’s interest in the environment, I am also aware of how important it is to try and use native plants in our landscaping. She loved to talk and educate people about the importance of what we should do to help make our planet a better place. I know you are now at peace and surrounded by the comfort of people and animals that you love. Thank you, Suzanne.

I will miss my sister every day. We were pretty darn close. As close as possible considering the distance between us. I'll remember her love of nature and animals. Of course, I'll remember her love for her husband, son and granddaughter. We will all miss her and her sense of humor . I hope that Bill , Andrew and Gwendolyn will smile at the heavens and say I love you. I know that I will.

My Aunt was a wonderful person. Her dedication to animals and those in need was immeasurable. I will miss her great knowledge and drive always. She shared a very special connection with her great nephew Caleb that he will never forget. Thank you Aunt Suzie for I am honored to have had you as a role model and I hope to be able to be as strong as you were on daily basis. I have much love and respect for you always...Love Sarah Kay

So sorry for your loss.....sending lots of love to the family!
~ Mary Rose McQuillan - April 26, 2019
My dear friend. The first time i met you was your first day at work at the clerks office...and you cracked me up!! Always a quirky sense of humor and an easy smile. We had some good times there and afterwards. I loved your passion for nature and the 4-legged children. You never shied away from a battle, whether it be Cancer or Parkinsons or your many outside interests, and most times you came out on top or at least left your mark. Remember how you got me to bring home a stray cat from work???? And that cat had a belly full of babies :) yes i kept them all..thus began my love of cats. I am happy that i was able to spend more time with you the last few years. And I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did. I wanted to see you one more time for me...you asked me if i would be mad at you if you had to go. I said no because I loved you and wanted you to be free and at peace. We started our goodbyes that afternoon. You will forever be in my heart Suzanne! Love you...Maria

We did not know Suzanne as we would of wanted to. But after reading all of the memories that were shared here we are sorry that we were not able to know her better. She sounded like an amazing person. Her husband, Bill works for my husband and I do know the love he had for her and the wonderful things he said about her and some of their memories of fun that he shared with my husband was of his times with her. Our love goes out to Bill and the family. We hope that all the loving memories of Suzanne will fill their hearts and take away the sadness.

You are so loved Aunt Suzie. Your with your mom again enjoy the heavens . we know you both will be watching over all of us. I love you..

Suzanne was a treasured friend of many years and she was a pioneer of conservation, animal welfare, native plants, and all things environmental. She loved the Enchanted Forest, the Sea Rocket Chapter of Native Plant Society, and all of the friends and family she had with the organizations that provided stewardship to our natural areas. She was a great friend who made our plant sales a lot of fun and assisted any gardener or homeowner who asked any and all questions about Native Plants. We owe many thanks to Suzanne and her family for the foundation of the Friends of the Enchanted Forest as hers is the name gracing the letter of determination for the non profit status of 501 (c) (3). The history of the saving of this property and the alignment with the up and coming Environmentally Endangered Lands Program all started with the saving of the Enchanted Forest and we must remember that Suzanne was one of the driving forces in saving the Enchanted Forest. We shall never forget you Suzanne, and I will always look for your guidance along the trails...Rest in Peace Suzanne-honored Steward of this Earth!
Much Love

Be at peace, my dear friend. I will miss you more than you can ever know and I hope our friendship meant as much to you as it did to me.
I will forever cherish our times together, both the good and the great!
Remember the look of horror on your face when we landed in Salt Lake City - in the middle of a snow storm - at the end of May! It took a lot of coaxing to get you off that plane!
And our trips to the Yucatan were priceless! Your open heart and loving nature made friends for us everywhere we went in that old convertible gas hog that I rented. We had a blast exploring the back roads and pueblos, waving at the children as we drove by!
But I think my fondest memories are of the work we did together, tracking gopher tortoises and collecting plant specimens, working in the native plant nursery, and sharing our deepest dreams and secrets. Great times for sure!
I know that life is unfair and bad things happen to good people, but it seems to me that you had more than your share of heartaches and challenges. I wish I had been able to change that for you.
I will see your smile every time I look at a Fiddlewood blooming or see a gopher tortoise, and I promise to smile, too!
Be at peace, Dear Suzanne. We shall meet again.

Earth Day was always a very special day to you. Thank you for all you did for us. We will continue to protect and enhance our earth and all precious life forms.
I think of you whenever I see tortoises.
I'll see you in the Forest.
