To My Dear Dad,
Just wanted to let you know, how much of an amazing Person you were. You are still here in my heart, and will always be, and that of the Family. In addition to all the People that had the privilege of meeting you. Mostly, I had the privilege of being one of your children. Thank you for all you have done for me.
I so miss and love you!
Your Daughter,
Lisa

Our deepest condolences to Mike & the Shim family. Thinking of you, Gene & Anna Hunter
~ Anna Hunter - March 22, 2019
Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences and sympathies are wished for Leslie Shim’s wife Glenna, his children and their spouses, Michael and Ana, Caroline and Paul, Desiree, and Lisa; his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren; and his loved ones and friends. The feeling of losing a loved one is indescribable and is an individual experience. We too are experiencing a feeling of the loss of Leslie Shim: this amazing man who won our hearts, captivated our minds, and was such a kind and loving person.
One did not have to even know Leslie Shim for him to reach out and offer them a part of himself. He was a very generous person who was most joyful when helping someone, whether with a gift, a joke, or lessons of life. Many of us have gained some wisdom through his stories and lessons. Also, we have learnt a lot by his positivity, his composure, his joviality, his zest for life, and his wonderful way of being. Leslie Shim was dedicated to his wife and family, but he gave a little piece of himself to all who he encountered. His kindness was in such great abundance.
“When those you love die, the best you can do is honor their spirit for as long as you live. You make a commitment that you're going to take whatever lesson that person was trying to teach you, and you make it true in your own life. It's a positive way to keep their spirit alive in the world, by keeping it alive in yourself.” -- Patrick Swayze --
Certainly Leslie Shim has not gone from us as he lives in our minds and hearts until we all meet again.
Love Luis & Yvonne Harris

Dear Mike, Anna and Katherine
Our deepest sympathies and condolences on the loss of Mike’s father. Mike told me how special and wonderful a person he was, and how quick he was to throw in a joke. His teachings and values helped make Mike the person he is today. To me, Mike is a fantastic person and a true friend. The best of the best. Cherish the good times and precious memories you have had with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Your friends Richard, Anne and Tristan.

Dear Aunty Caroline, Uncle Paul, Alex, Tyler and to all the Shim family,
They say deep grief is price we pay for great love. In times like these, words can only go so far but I pray you take comfort in knowing that your dad/grandad lived a full life, and that he was surrounded by love till the very end. And that you take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering, but is at peace.
May you always remember that those who love us never truly leave us, and that this is not goodbye, but till you meet again.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Sandy

To The Shim Family
Where there is love, any life is too short. But losing one’s husband and father, can cause a loneliness unlike any other. To express regret seems hardly enough because bereavement is so personal a matter that, few of us, unless we have experienced it ourselves, can fully comprehend its grief.
To be sure, his passing makes our world a smaller place, and while words may bring only slight comfort when your grief is great; I hope that you will be brave in your sorrow, as Leslie would have wanted you to be. In addition to my own, you will, I’m sure, have the support, considerations and prayers of family and good friends everywhere, which will provide you with the fortitude and courage you will need in adjusting to a new life without him.
We will ever remember Leslie as a good man for all good reasons. He was a one-of-a- kind person; consistent and extra-ordinary in every way as, a good husband, a good father, and an exceptionally good and loyal friend.
On a personal note, I will always treasure the memory of Leslie as a unique three-in-one person. He was undoubtedly a philosopher, a teacher and a doctor. He saw life without its complexities and was always ready, willing and able to share his wisdom, knowledge and experience to all. I remember him suggesting to me, that much of what we have or seek is nothing more than illusion and that stress is the root cause of nearly every human ailment. These are profound observations. I have no doubt that they were the bedrock of the stoicism, which allowed him to bear with uncommon fortitude many months of debilitating illness. This, he finally overcame with his entrance on March 12, 2019, into the Joy of his Lord.
While his loss creates a difficult time for us all, I respectfully suggest that it might ease our pain if we mourn less; but celebrate more with thanksgiving, the wonderful life of Leslie.
Therefore let us rejoice in the love and service that he so unselfishly gave, the courage he exemplified in his illness, the life he led, and in the sure knowledge that he is now at peace. While the world is a far lesser place without him, his star will forever be illuminating our skies as much as it did our hearts.
For Leslie I say “Requiescat in Pace.”
To Glenna and family, kindly accept my deepest sympathies
Peace, Love and Abundant Blessings

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Shim was a wonderful man and he will be missed dearly by many that knew him. My thoughts and prayers for your family.
~ Jackie Baugh - March 19, 2019
My junior high school and high school years were spent in Mr and Mrs Shims home. It was the only place I could experience a real family. Lisa was my best friend and I will always treasure my time spent with her family. I judge all curry dishes and Asian dishes by the ones Caroline made for us...and to this day none has met the expectation! Mr Shim made sure the Toyotas were clean every weekend without exception. So many times when I drive my Camry, I think of him and I keep it clean. To the Shim family I want to say my heart is broken for you, but I know he will always be with you. And thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your family those many years ago. I will be praying for Gods peace to embrace you.
~ Darleen Sanchez - March 19, 2019
My condolences to the Shim family. I pray you find comfort in knowing that even though we may loose a loved one in death, God will bring back to life all those found in his memory. (Job 14:15 John 5:28, 29 Acts 24:15) Yes, we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again. (Revelation 21:3, 4)
~ Steve K - March 19, 2019
We will always remember Mr. Shim as being very passionate about taking good care of himself using Herbalife and other natural remedies. He was like a walking encyclopedia! He also loved caring for his car making sure it was always spotless, well maintained and in top condition.
Our sympathy goes out to the entire Shim family as its always difficult to loose a loved one. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate his life well lived.
RIP Mr. Shim. You will be missed!

The very first time I met Leslie was at his son’s Michaels’s home. He’s one of the friendliest and good natured person you will ever meet. He was passionate about life & living. I will always remember when I ran into him at a health food store in Orlando as well as Mike’s home and he gave me some of the best information about living healthy and suggested natural medicines to help boost my immune system. Sleep in Peace Mr. Shim. ????

I met Leslie as a client years ago. I don’t remember how he heard about me or even what year it was but spending many hours with him as a practitioner I was so impressed by his knowledge I always looked forward to his sessions. I’ve been a Natural Health practitioner for 40 years and seen and talked to hundreds of people. I can honestly say he was my favorite client. Even though we both had accents (me being from Kentucky) and him from Jamaica, odd couple for sure, I understood the amazing stories he told me and was so impressed. He told me to always use the power of your mind. Example ( He used self hypnosis for a surgery he had) no drugs. Doctors were amazed. I’ll always remember him. He was a great gift to those who knew him even if they didn’t know it or didn’t do as he taught. Gods speed Leslie Shim. You made the earth a better place. Thank you and bless his wife, kids and family. You’re in my heart and prayers. Nadina. I loved the way he said my name.

When we arrived in Orlando in 1977 my family connected with the Shim family. Caroline and I immediately became best friends and I spent many afternoons in the Shim house. Many a time as a teenager I was on the receiving end of his no nonsense attitude and he earned my utmost respect for each was a lesson learned. This later extended to my then young son who was sternly reminded of his table manners. Mr Shim don't ramp.
Mr Shim had an encyclopedic knowledge of natural healing and was always eager to share this knowledge whenever I visited/consulted. :-)
When thinking of Mr Shim, it will bring a tear or two but my memories of him will always bring a smile.
Fly with the Angels Mr Shim.

Mr. Shim was a remarkable man. Our fondest memorie of him, was his passion and knowledge of Holistic medicine. He also showed so much conviction in all that he did & beleived in.
He was a very dedicated man to his family and was ''very proud'' of his Jamaican heritage.
I can remember him speaking of Jamaican dances he would attend and then say...I like the old school reggae not the ''Yaga Yaga'' stuff they play now! I use to just chuckle and smh, because he would then say ''You understand? When Papa Shim would say this, then I knew he was serious about what he was schooling us/me on.
We moved to Orlando in 2002 and we became even closer to Mr. Shim. We always refference him like a ''surrogate''Dad. We confided in him, listened to advise, & had the up most Love & Respect for him.
Well.. Papa its time for you to rest now peacefully, & your inner voice & advise will NEVER leave us.
We Love you and will Always be their to help look out for Mimi & the rest of the family~
One Love,
Gegory & Sheila & family

Papa, your life with us will always be remembered. You were not just only my father-in-law, but I saw you as a dedicated husband and provider; a loving Dad; a brilliant teacher; a master mechanic, a holistic healer and counselor.
And most importantly, to me you will be remembered for the extreme kind, loving and devotational trait that you have passed on to your children, especially to my wife (your daughter) Caroline and our sons Alex and Tyler.
Rest in Peace until we meet again.
