Larry and Claudia are some of my oldest and dearest friends whom I've know for over 30 years. It was such a shock to hear of the passing of this man that I admired so much. It always amazed me how he knew so much about everything and the things he could accomplish with little or no sight (replacing kitchen cabinets, wallpapering, working on cars, etc.). The words "I can't do this" were NOT a part of his vocabulary. He was an awesome cook, had a great sense of humor and some sound advice. I spent many an afternoons laying by their pool, having a beer and smelling that chicken cooking on the grill - some of my favorite times!
I will miss Larry dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with Claudia and the rest of their family.

Larry you will be missed by all your family and friends. You and Claudia have been so good to Christi and her family and I will be forever grateful. I admired you for not giving up and enjoying life. We will all be together again in Heaven!

I had the honor of being “Papa’s” nurse the last three days of his life. It only took a few minutes to fall in love with him and Claudia and adopt myself into their wonderful family! Some patients jump into your heart the moment you enter their room. I cried when Larry went to ICU and I cried when I heard the news he hadn’t made it. I thank God I was blessed for the very short time I was to have him as a part of my life. Ms. Claudia, if you ever need anything, I will be here for you. Thanks so much for giving me the privilege of taking care of “Papa”. Julie, RN

Larry Caudill, Was the most interesting and intelligent person I ever meat. You could talk to him about anything and Larry had knowledge about it. When Larry had his sight we would go out to lake Nona with his boat. Larry had one speed........WIDE OPEN! I admire him for living life without limits. Larry will be missed at family get together. He was the best kick ball pitcher and volley ball server for a blind man you ever saw. You tell Larry were to put the ball and he would better then a person who could see. We were having a B-day party for grandpa and Michel tells Larry how beautiful Claudia is and Larry reply was he new because he could still see her. Lucky for Claudia he was stuck at Forty......LOL Cuz
Larry is gone but not for gotten!! My deepest sympathies to Larry's wife my cousin/sister Claudia,Cristi,Chris,Maddie,Tori andLuke
Rest in Pease Larry!!

Am still overwhelmed with grief due to Gerard's passing. I had known him since we were both 17 years old when meeting at Massey Technical Institute in Jacksonville in Sept. 1963. He was always a great friend and a super person. We lost touch through the 70's and 80's, but re-established the friendship in 1991 when Boyd, Jerry, and I visited him in 1991, as we have done several times since. Also, my wife, Jean, and I have enjoyed visiting with he and Claudia a couple times when we were in Florida. We were always made to feel so welcome. I could not have had a better friend even though we lived some 350 miles apart. Gerard and I always had a lot of common interest which made for some very interesting telephone visits, and oh the stories we could tell about things that happened when we were in school in Jacksonville in 1963 and 1964. We're all going to miss Gerard. We wish to offer our sympathies and best wishes to Claudia and all the family as you get through these trying times. May God be with you is our prayer. Always, Jean and Edwin Sayer

We could always count on Larry to be the best volleyball and kick ball server at every family get together. We surely will miss that big smile.

Larry was a very unique person. He was one of the most interesting persons you could ever meet..We have been close friends with him and Claudia for over 30 years..As the years went by we watched him slowly loose his eyesight..but never lost his spirit and desire to do anything he wanted to do..he never let his disability stop him. We spent many good times with Larry and Claudia. There are so many years of memories of trips, pool parties, cookouts, holidays, birthdays and long conversations. He was an amazing chef and loved talking about food and cars. His recent illness never kept him from fighting to overcome..as he has had to overcome so many obstacles in his life..we will miss him every day..and our hearts will continue to love him forever..our deepest sympathies to Claudia, Cristi, Chris, Maddie, Tori and Luke.

My Dad was the greatest man and strongest person I have ever known. Even though he lost his sight, he never let it get him down or stop him from doing things he loved. He lived life to the fullest and did things just as good as a sighted person could. He will be greatly missed by us all. I love you Daddy!
