Sarah L. Bacon of Orlando, FL and Warsaw, OH passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018 with loved ones surrounding her. Born in Warsaw, OH to Burl (Jack) Walters and Ruth (Shaw) Walters on July 22, 1928, she was the 5th of 7 children. She later met the love of her life, Leon "Dick" Bacon while living and working in Coshocton, OH. They were married on September 29, 1951 in Williamsport, PA and after a very cold winter there, they decided to move to Florida. They eventually settled in the Winter Park/Orlando FL area in 1956.

They had 3 children together, Susan, Stephen and Shawn and they also had two older children, Larry and Peggy, by her husband's previous marriage, who remained in Ohio but were always a intricate part of their lives and came to Florida to visit often. Mom was not only a full time wife and mother but also worked full time for Crum's Fuel Oil Service in Winter Park as a bookkeeper for 44 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and stepmother.

In her limited free time during her working years, she loved just being at home spending time with her family and would sneak a little private time in the evening after everyone went to bed to read or work the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper. During her retirement years, she continued to have a passion for reading, working the crossword puzzle each day, loved watching old movies on TV, putting together jigsaw puzzles and listening to her music, with some of her favorite artists being Andre Rieu, Andrea Bocelli, and Josh Grobin.

Known as Memaw and Grandma, she loved spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren who lived close by - Tiffany, Sean Lee, Lindsey & Erica and would look forward to spending quality time with the grandchildren that would come to visit from Ohio each year - Kristen, Wade, Kent & Kara. In later years she would continue to enjoy visits with the addition of her great grandchildren - Jacob, Morgan, Emma, Sarah, Colin, Aidan, Zachary, Taylor, Ryan & Ethan. Just recently she got two additional step great grandchildren, Aiden and Colin and one on the way, Bradley, which sadly she won't be here to see when he makes his entrance in the world next March.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruth Walters, her husband, Dick, and her siblings, Carlos Walters, Marie Slaughter, Jean Bible, Nadine Darr and Myron "Bucky" Walters and their spouses. She is survived by her children/step children, Susan (John) Morgan, Stephen (Debbie) Bacon, Shawn (Pam) Bacon of Orlando, Larry (Carolyn) Bacon of Wilmington, OH and Peggy (Jim) Kniesly of Dayton, OH, her sister, Faye Ann (Rodney) Albertson of Coshocton, OH, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service attended by the family will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to your local hospice.
