Harold Hughes was born in Tiffin Ohio on April 21,1919 to Mabel and John Albert Hughes. He had 10 brothers and sisters. Helping out on the family farm developed his work ethic early. He had the same work ethic even in his 90’s when he was out pulling weeds or mowing the yard.
After completing electrical school he went into the army for WWII. He served for 4 years and went from North Africa to all over the European Continent. He was involved in the liberation of Italy and France plus the final push through Germany.
He moved to Florida in the early 60’s and settled on the space coast in 1965. He worked for 20 years at Jess Parrish hospital and then worked 15 more for Boggs Gasses.
Harold was preceded in death by 2 wives Edith and Vera, a son Bill Adams, and a grandson Steven Padgett. He is survived by three daughters Karen Padgett, Eileen Meister, Donna Baxter and one son John Hughes. He has 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
