In Loving Memory of

Walter L. Stoker

1937 - 2015
Walter L Stoker, 78, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 in Cape Canaveral, FL.

Walter was a proud and patriotic war veteran. He retired from the United States Army after serving from 1954-1978 with two tours during the Vietnam War. He was also retired from the Brevard County Corrections Institution after working there from 1980-1992.

Walter L Stoker married the love of his life, Margie, in 1960 and they eventually settled down in Cocoa, FL. He loved to read and had a passion for creating custom wooden crosses. If you had the privilege of getting to know Walter, you could instantly recognize that he was one of the most kind-hearted people you would ever meet. His smile was heartwarming and his laugh could brighten a dark room. He will be missed dearly, always loved, and never forgotten.

Walter is survived by his wife Margie Stoker and their four children: Patrick Stoker (and wife Susan), Peri Parrish (and partner Mike), Bonnie Washington, and Martin Stoker. Also, his sister Helen Jett. There are many grandchildren to cherish Walter’s memory: Janice Moore (and partner Dan), Holly Griffis (and partner Steven), Rick Griffis (and wife Suzie), Andrew Griffis, Michaela Stoker, Dustin Gaughran, Travis Gaughran, Neal Gaughran, and Jennifer Gaughran. Walter also had four great grandchildren: Donovan, Jessica, Erin, and Mia. Walter was an avid pet lover and had four cats: Spike, Prince, Whiskers, and Fluffy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
