Chief Petty Officer, Paul Brian Stover, NAVY (Ret.), age 64 of Jacksonville, FL, lost his courageous battle with brain cancer, on Saturday, September 16, 2017, but cancer never dimmed his smile and good humor.

Born in Detroit Lakes, MN on Nov.14, 1952 to the late Loren & Mary Jane Stover. As a young boy his family moved to Seymour, WI and he graduated from Seymour High in 1970. He joined the Navy in 1970 and served for 26 years. He retired as an E7 from the USS John Hancock in Jacksonville, FL. Over his years of service, his tours of duty took him to 60 countries and several duty stations. He took great pride in serving his country.

He loved his family and was a very caring & giving man. He loved his Green Bay Packers & WI Badgers. He enjoyed going back to WI in the winter to snowmobile. He liked to play Scrabble, telling jokes and stories of growing up. A little-known fact about Paul, back in the day he was a wonderful piano player.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; his children: Traci (Jeff) Meeker; Aaron (Marielena); and Hannah, all of Orlando. Stepdaughters; Ali (Justus) Stallard and Kara (Brent) King all of Jacksonville. Grandchildren; Evan, Max, Ava, Isaac and Grant. Brother Phillip (Marcie) and sister Eileen Eggert, all of Kaukauna, WI. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Paul was preceded in death by wife Virginia; his parents; sister Joyce Walter; sister- in- law Becky Stover; and brothers- in-law Richard Walter and Daniel Eggert.

A Graveside Service with full military honors will be rendered at 1:00PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. To share a special memory of Paul or to leave a message for the family, please click “Share Memories”.
