Daryl A. Kern died August 3, 2017 at Parrish Medical Center, Titusville, Florida after several months of illness. He was 90 years old. He had made his home in Fort Myers area of Florida for the past 30 years. He was born on November 5, 1926, raised in Bradner, Ohio and graduated from the 12th grade at Bradner High School in May,1944.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Trenna Kern; his sister Ada Saunders Kern, and his brothers, Charles (June) and Kenneth (Eileen) Kern. He is survived by his nephews, Duane (Judy) Kern, Ralph (Lori) Kern and Richard (Teresa) Kern as well as 5 grand nieces and nephews and their children.
Daryl actively served in the US army for about 2 years after World War II from September 1948 through April 1950, and was stationed for 21 months in Japan. After active duty he was in the reserves for 5 years.

Daryl’s early work career was with Toledo Steel Tube as a machinist. His later career, until he retired in the 1970’s was with the Physicians and Surgeon’s group in Toledo, Ohio as their Facilities Maintenance Manager. Since his retirement, he has lived in Florida. He initially shared a home with his, sister Ada Saunders in Bonita Springs, Florida, and then Fort Meyers, Florida. He has lived in Fort Meyers until his death in August 2017.

Daryl enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes, traveling with family, visiting with family and friends and loved his cat Miss Kitty.

He will be greatly missed and loved by all!!
