Peter Howard Fader Life story video
Peter Fader passed away on April 26, 2017 in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL due to complications associated with bladder and kidney cancer. Pete was born on April 7, 1943 in Marblehead, MA. He was predeceased by his father Howard Fader, mother Katherine Fader, brother Paul Fader, sister Ardis Fader, and nephew, Jason Fader. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne, daughter Mitzi Fader, son Richard Fader and wife Nicole, son Scott Fader and wife Layla, sister Jan Fader, granddaughter Kyra Timmons and husband Justin, grandson Nicolas Bass-Fader, granddaughter Zoe Fader, grandson Riley Fader, great grandson Aiden Timmons and great granddaughter baby Timmons (expected August 2017). Pete is also survived by one aunt, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless extraordinary friends.

Pete was born and raised in Marblehead, MA. He graduated from Marblehead High School in 1961, and later joined the United States Navy in 1964. While on active duty, he served as a machinist on the USS Cascade and the USS Richard E. Kraus destroyers. He served his country during the Vietnam war, and was part of the crew that recovered and returned one of three missing H bombs that were lost due to a mid-air collision off the coast of Palomares Spain in 1966. Pete was honorably discharged from the USN in 1966, and subsequently served in the USNR until 1970.

Pete married Joanne on April 24, 1965. They settled in Raymond, NH and later moved to Danvers, MA. Pete was employed at Boyd’s Potato Chip Company in Lynn, MA, while they lived in both Raymond and Danvers. In 1974 the family moved to Orlando, FL, where he was employed with Stoll & Clemmons as a carpet installer. Later, he worked for Orlando Utilities Commission in the Facilities Maintenance department. He retired in 2003 as a Projects Manager in Facilities Maintenance after 24 years with OUC.

In 2008, Pete and Joanne moved to Jacksonville, FL. Throughout his life Pete enjoyed hunting and fishing. He immensely enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson, and summer vacations at Ormond Beach. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle and a wonderful friend to all who had the honor of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, Pete requested donations be made to the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Foundation (1101 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220, Kansas City, MO 64131) or to the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida (PO Box 11010, Tallahassee, FL 32302). Thank you all for your support and love during this difficult time.
